As time goes on, comfort and a sense of well-being becomes more important. Every space around us, be it an office, a living room or an urban space, must be comfortable and promote positive emotions. We all design our living rooms and gardens, our offices and other spaces both indoors and outdoors with an extreme care. Why can’t a park bench in an urban space be something more than just a single bench unhappily on an open roadside?
Spatially thought through and cozily designed resting place creates a sense of security and pleasant emotions. By bringing more dimensions and more complete solutions to streets and parks, which consider all users, we create a rich and exciting urban space. By that we create an inspiring place with a pleasant and cozy feeling.
A single park bench in an open field does not create the most cozy feeling and does not entice us to sit down for a longer period of time. Therefore, it is important to include more elements than just a bench and a trash can when designing a bench pocket. The latter solution is cold, characterless and outdated.
We have moved into a time where well-being and spiritual experiences are valued. Nowadays, our rhythm of life is very fast and stressful. Therefore, it is important that a needed yet unnoticeable element in an urban space, such as a park bench, naturally supports positive emotions.
By bringing more dimensions and more complete solutions to streets and parks, which consider all users, we create a rich and exciting urban space.
In order to make the places intended for bench pockets in the urban space more personal and to make it easy to do, we have already done some examples in advance. Place maker no. 1 is solved with a Sume table and a Linn family park bench and chairs. Plant containers from the Tiide family and Kaar 1000 bicycle racks help create separation from other street traffic. Kaar bicycle racks are also suitable as road barriers. The Vandal 75 litter bin is designed to be the right size for the area. The arrangement of the products in this place maker is designed to take into account the needs of all citizens, so that everyone has the opportunity to participate pleasantly in joint gatherings.

Place maker no. 2 icludes park benches and a table belonging to the Tiide family. A Tiide park bench with a back, a square park bench without a back and a Tiide square table were chosen. This solution offers the opportunity to use the recreation area for all those living in the urban space. Tiide’s plant containers create separation from other traffic, which can always be placed additionally to create more privacy if necessary. Kaar 300 bike racks ensure that bikes are parked safely and undisturbed.
